01 Confirm the Approved Assembly

Installation planning begins before a cover reaches the site. Check that the delivered cover and frame match the approved product reference, dimensions and project specification. Keep the relevant drawings and product documents available to the installation team.

Covers and frames should be considered as an assembly. An existing frame may look compatible with a new cover while differing in its seating profile or dimensions. Ask the supplier and responsible project team to confirm compatibility before using replacement components.

02 Review the Site Details

The responsible designer and qualified contractor should confirm the chamber interface, supporting construction, finished pavement level and installation method. Product selection does not replace those site-specific decisions. Required bedding materials, curing periods and acceptance checks should come from the approved installation documentation.

Plan suitable handling equipment and site controls for the actual assembly weight and working conditions. Opening or entering a chamber introduces separate hazards and should only be handled through the appropriate site procedures.

03 Record the Handover Checks

Agree how the completed work will be inspected and recorded. The checklist may include correct product identification, seating, surrounding levels and the operation of specified locking or access features. Acceptance criteria should be defined by the project documentation.

04 Plan Ongoing Inspection

Ask the site owner to define an inspection and maintenance schedule suited to the location. Report movement, damage, obstruction or changes in the surrounding pavement to the responsible maintenance team. Use approved replacement parts and keep records of any changes.
